It’s pretty amazing how words (from our subconscious) brim to the surface when we write…just the same way images take form on paper when we sketch
…memories stay recessed and are expressed in sketch…
I never knew I could draw from imagination…(one of my pitfalls-doubting myself) but I’m learning to trust my instincts regarding what I can achieve.
So I bought this book- ‘642 things to draw’ and I absolutely love it!!
I can be my own worst enemy but I am learning to trust and love myself (bar any lip service when I claim to trust myself but don’t). Our subconscious is both intriguing and amazing…I’m learning to not overthink… and just get on with it!
Spontaneity is the watchword that informs my art practice. My artwork celebrates the energy of abstract expressionism.
'why not?' underlines my creative process. Forget the box! Its obsolete...it's all about whatever shape you want to throw on that dance floor! The process drives my practice!! For me, work well done is work I have thoroughly enjoyed making...work that has made me think, sweat, cry, scream and come back for more!!! Work that gets my back up; pushes me...gives me cause for doubt. Makes me push in order for 'why not?' to become possible. Boundaries? What boundaries?
