It’s lovely that it’s nice and sunny but when you have to be at work and not basking…the heat is no picnic!!! I worked two hours today as a playground instructor (kids run on batteries) …it is sooooo hot today. Who goes on a climbing frame in this heat? Kids do! Run around playing tag…getting into scraps…steaming and screaming with delight!!! And I can’t sit still in the shade …no sirree…not on the job! (It is 32.8 degrees Celsius – the hottest September day since 1949). Nah man!!!! Tomorrow had better not be this boiling…kids don’t do ‘no play time’
Spontaneity is the watchword that informs my art practice. My artwork celebrates the energy of abstract expressionism.
'why not?' underlines my creative process. Forget the box! Its obsolete...it's all about whatever shape you want to throw on that dance floor! The process drives my practice!! For me, work well done is work I have thoroughly enjoyed making...work that has made me think, sweat, cry, scream and come back for more!!! Work that gets my back up; pushes me...gives me cause for doubt. Makes me push in order for 'why not?' to become possible. Boundaries? What boundaries?

Ugh. We’re heading into summer soon, and yeah, the heat is NO fun at all, is it? π
π Oh wow…you are ‘heading into summer?’ How late are your summers in Australia? You are in Australia? So all this time we’ve been baking in London, you’ve been having ‘cushty’ weather…? you lucky ‘so and so’!!! π
Working in the heat is ‘the worst thing ever’ you just do not want to be the ‘go to’ person for rowdy kids in a baking playground!!!
Summer is December, January and February for us here in Oz, so it’s technically spring right now. Alas, our spring feels like summer already. It’s just plain nuts. I’m glad I don’t have to chase after kids in the heat like you do though! That’s one small mercy! Ha ha! π
π defo lucky you don’t work in a playground…who would have thought I would ‘dread’ the sun so much…! So do you have winter in Oz?
Technically we do, although it’s about the mildest winter that you’d come across anywhere in the world. They tend to be like very cool springs with the occasional cold snap. π
Oh wow!!! That is so awesome!!! Best weather ever!!! So it basically never snows in Oz! (sweet). I mean I love snow but do not enjoy being cold. But to be in ‘sunny climate’ all year round…no winter jackets, no central heating…(sounds too good to be true)…what’s the down side?
It snows in the lowest regions of Australia, but where I am? Yeah, we don’t get any. The downside is that the humidity in summer is a total b***h. It is seriously high and seriously oppressive. π
We have tons of beaches here for sure. As you know, we’re basically a big island in the middle of nowhere, and most of the population lives on or near the coast anyway, so going to the beach to catch a tan is just a part of life for a lot of folks here. Not me though. I swear I must have been a vampire in a past life or something. I go to the beach and… well, burn. π
Aww…(lmao)…definitely upsides and downsides to living in Oz!! Apart from sunburn …give me a beach any day of the year…by now I’d have been a great swimmer and possibly (part beach bum) π. Oz is the place to be!!!!!
We’ve been told by people who’ve lived abroad that Australia is one of the lucky countries in terms of livability, that’s for sure. And although I’m not a terribly patriotic person at the best of times, I have to concede to their wisdom on this point. There must be plenty of pluses where you are too though, right? π
Only summer…and sometimes spring (new shoots) and Autumn (when the leaves fall). Winter can be a bummer…(pretty but a real pain). Snow is only lovely when you are not snowed in and it turns to ‘black ice’… Yeah, you Aussies are so blessed…π

Oh gosh…too much heat definitely does your head in (talking from experience here π©). Have you got loads of beaches where you are? Extremely hot summers are not fun at all…just hydrate non stop and try to stay cool (if possible)…gosh, and I’m complaining about the cold…! Wow…just realised its polar opposites! What are the upsides?
