Birthday weekend…

I am overwhelmed by all the lovely wishes I have received since Friday…makes me realise just how lucky I am to be soooo appreciated. Most times I forget to wish anyone happy birthday ( especially on Facebook). But it’s amazing when people take time to send a birthday wish…(it’s so generous to think of someone else rather than oneself). I have to learn to be selfless and take time to share a smile, a birthday wish, a kind hello…I need to stop rushing about (most of the time) …thinking of only me. It really is time to stop and smell the roses cos people can be pretty amazing.

Spontaneity is the watchword that informs my art practice. My artwork celebrates the energy of abstract expressionism. 'why not?' underlines my creative process. Forget the box! Its obsolete...it's all about whatever shape you want to throw on that dance floor! The process drives my practice!! For me, work well done is work I have thoroughly enjoyed making...work that has made me think, sweat, cry, scream and come back for more!!! Work that gets my back up; pushes me...gives me cause for doubt. Makes me push in order for 'why not?' to become possible. Boundaries? What boundaries?
