Describe a risk you took that you do not regret.
I dropped a day….(at work) to give myself more time in studio….
It took me a while to go for it because I had no idea how I would manage financially. I just needed timeout from chasing my tail in a 5 day work week.
Half the time I would skive to get a day off….to work on a commission. I was so burnt out….even considered quitting my day job.
I remember at the meeting being advised that cutting down to a four day week would have financial implications on take home pay. I wanted to try it out for three months but was told it would have to be for a year.
I still remember my first day off….it felt like a holiday!!!! Signing that contract to reduce my working week is a risk I would take a hundred times over!!!!! This four day week has been a lifeline!!!!!
Financially it has been worth it….because right now I’m earning more than I was when I took the pay cut two years ago….(obviously because of pay scales increments)
Of course I’d be earning more if I hadn’t dropped a day….but I would still have been chasing my tail…and planning to quit…and in despair.
Right now I’ve got time out, studio and work. Love it!
