Interview someone — a friend, another blogger, your mother, the mailman — and write a post based on their responses.
So….I interviewed my niece today….apart from using ‘questioning’ to stretch and challenge students….I wouldn’t say I am a ‘twenty questions’ person. Tell a lie…I probably am…I have been told I ask too many questions…want to know everything!!!
What can I say? I’m naturally curious…but this was different. No waffling…going off on a tangent…I just asked generic-ish questions….no going too deep. It felt ‘removed’ as though I was interviewing her as some ‘headhunter’ and not as her aunt. Xara and I always have a natter about everything and nothing….
So….before interviewing Xara…I gave her a heads up about the kind of questions I was going to ask….

She was really okay about it….oh my days….editing afterwards was a myth….listening back I did jump in a bit ….preempting her answers!!!!! I cut that all out!
Interviews are not as easy as I thought….active listening is a skill I’m still learning.
